During his visit to Jordan in April 2019, Dr. Dennis Siemsen, O.D, M.H.P.E Optometry, and Low Vision at Mayo Clinic - USA, visited the Vision Rehabilitation Center (VRC) at the German Jordanian University (GJU).
Siemsen toured the center and met with VRC team where they all involved in a discussion about vision rehabilitation.
He sent a "Thank You Letter" to the President of GJU Prof. Manar Fayyad where he said that the center “provides a level of evaluation and treatment that would be the envy of any such center in the U.S.”. He plans to incorporate the information gathered from the center at his low vision program at Mayo Clinic.
“I must give high accolades to the Center’s Diploma Course, as well as the online courses in low vision,” Siemsen added. He noted that there is no similar system like this in the United States, revealing his plan to present a summary of the activities of VRC at the annual meeting of the American Academy Optometry.
Siemsen concluded that the Vision Rehabilitation Center is a credit to GJU and to its leadership.
