President Fayyad also stressed the importance of reflecting a spectacular image of Jordan and GJU, pointing at the great benefits they will develop from this experience through refining their personalities and skills.

Director of IO, Mr. Jens Hegemann, congratulated the students for reaching a turning point of their lives, as he also directed the students to benefit from today’s event and learn from previous students' experiences, assuring them that they will be provided with all support and assistance during their stay in Germany, presenting statistics and facts about the German Year.

On the other hand, Dr. Khasawneh, Von Fircks and Dr. Sperberg gave tips and advices to the students, which they could implement during their upcoming journey mentioning that Germany differs in culture, traditions and dialects from one city to another and  this is considered a great learning exposure for them.

IO and OIL with the assistance of GJUs’ students conducted presentations on “Living and Studying in Germany”, “Internship in Germany” and a brief introduction of Elevatus (Online Video CVs). What is also worth mentioning is that there was a musical performance of a German song at the end of the ceremony, which was presented by three GJU talented students.

In the evening, all involved parties for the German Year; IO, OIL and some Exchange Coordinators gathered alongside with around 50 students for the event in the School of Architecture and Built Environment (SABE), Jabal Amman where they all participated in an informal evening in a pleasant and enjoyable atmosphere with a nice buffet, some dance performance and lots of music!

The participants also had the chance to meet their future fellow students of their German universities and to speak German with the IO and OIL colleagues. After 6 months of preparing the outgoing process, this was the perfect way to farewell all the students leaving Jordan in September and October 2018.
