On Tuesday 6th of March 2018, The President of German Jordanian University Prof Manar Fayyad had an Interview with Journalist Jamal Al Bawareed from Jordan News Agency- Petra, where she said that the German Jordanian University is considered one of the most successful mutual education projects based on the German Cultural Exchange evaluation report to its projects in various countries.

Fayyad said that German Jordanian University was established in 2005 based on an agreement between the Jordanian and German governments and was modelled on the German applied-sciences model, characterized by their focus on putting knowledge into practice and on promoting knowledge transfer. She added that since establishment, the university has carried out the slogan "Education for Employment and Education for Employment and Entrepreneurship".

She mentioned that GJU established the Office for Industrial Links in order to achieve its goals in creating a strategic relationship with the industry. The office is also responsible for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, pointing out that students can implement their ideas into real projects through the office.

At the interview, Prof. Manar pointed to the German Year where students spend one full year in Germany between studying and work noting that 800 of students are currently in Germany to fulfil the requirement of this year, indicating the huge impact on the students in regards of their personalities and work experience, saying that 75 percent of the students get employment before graduation.

In addition, she demonstrated the University’s achievements such as the solar energy project “ANWAR” besides other projects are still under construction like the library building, the German language center, the gym building and laboratory equipment.

In regards of GJU’s plans for study programs, she explained that the university is focusing on expanding graduate programs. Currently, there is a new master's program in Social Work / Migration and Refugees in response to the Syrian refugee crisis. There are also MBA programs, logistics sciences, marketing, energy, computer, industrial engineering and social sciences.
