In cooperation with Istiklal Hospital and Audiology Consulting Center, the German Jordanian University organized a free medical day for the local community in Naour and Madaba on Tuesday, May 31, 2016.

This day marked the outstanding initiative in helping the local community and provide them with the needed medical services by the university especially the efforts of the Deanship of Students Affairs that organized this event in cooperation with the office of the assistant to the president for local affairs. While all patients were whole-heartedly welcome to be diagnosed and receive appropriate treatment.

Prof. Natheer Abu.Obeid, GJU President, expressed pride to cooperate with the private sector for organizing such an event at GJU, in order to help the unprivileged families and provide free medical services.

Prof. Abu.Obeid added that GJU is keen to strengthen its partnership with the local community through these humanitarian initiatives, saying that GJU established an office of assistant to the president for local affairs to contribute to the local community, knowing that the local community benefited from that through the English and Computer courses that were organized by the office.

For his part, Dr. Osama Attari said that this initiative indicates the sense of social responsibility and it’s very important to continue organizing such activities that serve the local community.

The Director of Audiology Consulting Center said that the center will distribute Hearing impaired earphones to children to help them improve their health and to help them to engage into society.

During the day, doctors checked around 200 patients, offering them the needed medicine after being diagnosed.
