The German Jordanian University (GJU), in cooperation with the Jordanian Astronomical Society, organized an Astronomy Observing Event inside the main campus. The event attracted many students who came to participate in the event.

The President of the Jordanian Astronomical Society, Dr. Ammar Al-Sakji, gave a lecture on astronomy and the interpretation of recent images taken by the James Webb Telescope, explaining how mobile applications could be used in observing astronomy.

The students observed the movement of stars and moons.  They were also informed about the International Space Agency and the celestial bodies and formations.

The Dean of the Deanship of Student Affairs (DSA) at GJU, Dr. Thelal Owais, said that the event aimed at raising awareness and creating a culture in astronomy and introducing them to the importance of images of the deep universe recently announced by NASA, noting that the university will conduct several astronomical activities in the coming days.
