The President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Ala’aldeen Alhalhouli, discussed with the Acting Director General of the National Aid Fund, Dr. Barq Al-Damour ways of collaboration between the two sides in the vocational and technical fields.

Dr. Al-Halhouli stressed that the cooperation between the two parties is in line with the university's mission and strategic plan for the years 2022 and beyond, which includes strengthening its local, regional, and global partnerships with the public and private sectors and industry to serve the local community.

Dr. Al-Halhouli added that the partnership with the Fund would result in the implementation of projects and professional programs targeting the children of the beneficiaries of the Fund in rehabilitation, training, and employment to support them towards self-supporting.

For his part, Damour praised the university’s achievements at the local and international levels, professionally and academically. He stressed that the Fund looks forward to achieving a partnership with the private sector and civil society institutions due to its importance in the formation of training programs, which are in harmony with the standards and needs of the Jordanian labor market, especially with the impact of the Corona crisis, which revealed the need for a database on the labor market, and the need for electronic transformation.

The meeting was attended by the training expert and consultant, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Dissi, the Director of the Consultation and Training Center (CTC) at GJU, Mr. AbdulHakeem Arabiyat, the Director of the Training and Employment Directorate at the Fund, Mr. Ibrahim Zureikat. The delegation visited the engineering workshops at the School of Applied Technical Sciences (SATS) and some laboratories.
