The German Jordanian University (GJU) recently took part in the Arab Olympiad for Artificial Intelligence (AIO), hosted by the Steam Center and the Arab Robotics and AI Association, and endorsed by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship.

Representing the university at the Olympiad was a team of students from the Robotics Club: Ahmed Ayed Abu Ajamieh, Leen Al-Fatyani, Muhammad Miroslav, Abdullah Ammar Ahmed, Carmel Al-Qawasmi, Hazem Nabil Al-Salhi, and Muhannad Khader. They were under the guidance of Dr. Mutaz Ryalat. The team secured the third-place honor in the categories of Computer Vision and Embedded Systems.

The team members extended their gratitude to GJU’s President, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, and the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Thelal Oweis, for their steadfast support and encouragement in fostering student engagement in such activities.

The Olympiad stands as one of the premier artificial intelligence competitions in the Arab region. Participants competed across five distinct disciplines: programming, mathematics and algorithms, cybersecurity, embedded systems, and computer vision. They showcased scientific projects embodying the principles of artificial intelligence and engaged in programming challenges and problem-solving marathons.
