The German Jordanian University (GJU) hosted the Green Cities Project meeting supported by the Italian Agency for Development in the presence of representatives of the partners from Jordan, namely the Greater Irbid Municipality, the Municipality of Karak, the Ecosystems Association for Organic Fertilizers, the Euro-Jordanian Advanced Business Institute, Qutoof Professional Development, the University Cooperation Foundation, and GJU.

 

The project aims to increase cooperation between the municipalities of Jordan, Lebanon, and Italy in energy efficiency, renewable energy, and waste management.

 

The Dean of the School of Natural Resources Engineering and Management (SNREM) at GJU, Dr. Qassem Abdelal, and the project coordinators, Dr. Zakaria Dalalah and Dr. Osama Saadeh, attended the meeting.

 

At the end of the meeting, the participants discussed the steps to implement the project and the work program, the Mayor of Irbid, Dr. Nabil Al-Kofahi, and the Mayor of Karak, Eng. Muhammad Al-Maaytah signed memorandums of understanding with the civil society institutions participating in the project.
