On Wednesday, November 21, 2018,  the German Jordanian University (GJU) in cooperation with Public Security Directorate, organized an exhibition to raise awareness on drugs and its riskiness among the students and staff.

GJU’s Vice President Dr. Atef Kharabsheh welcomed the Anti-Narcotics Department representatives appreciating the enormous efforts they handle to raise awareness among the youth and families.

The Colonel Ahmad Abu Zaid explained the roles of the department to control smuggling and promoting drugs, conduct awareness programs, supervise and facilitate addicts’ rehabilitation.

The students and staff engaged with Abu Zaid in a constructive discussion about the factors that contribute to addiction, laws associated with the drugs issue, besides the individual’s responsibility in supporting drug addicts.

At the end of the lecture, awareness videos were presented then the team of the department demonstrated different drugs types and using methods.

The lecture was attended by the Dean of Student Affair (DSA), the Dean of the School of Basic Sciences and Humanities (SBSH), and a large number of academic and administrative staff.
