The International Affairs Department (IAD) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) organized the farewell event for the Outgoing Students Spring 2023 leaving to Germany and starting their obligatory German Year.

The ceremony was attended by the Vice President for international affairs, Prof. Reiner Finkeldey, the Director of IAD Mr. Jens Hegemann and Ms Leonie Lorenz, the cultural attaché of the German Embassy.

Prof. Finkeldey and Hegemann addressed the students with words of encouragements and advise. They stressed the importance of benifiting from the German Year especially in learning the language, the culture and making new friends. Moreover, Hegemann advised the students to develop a transcultural personality able to work in many fields, able to live in two worlds, as GJU became a well-known brand in the last 18 years that stand for the highest employability rate in Jordan and innovation and thinking out of the box.

The IAD team of Outgoing and Internship Coordinators, Support Office for Internship, Project Office Magdeburg, provided presentations to the students in order to facilitate their German Year.

In addition, GJU Alumni Farah and Mohammad shared their own study and internship experience in Germany with the students giving informative tips & hacks. At the end of the ceremony, a FAQ Session for students was conducted.
