The German Jordanian University (GJU) participated in the International Conference and Exhibition for Education 2022, Education in Times of Crises: Opportunities and Challenges in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the participation of hundreds of educational, economic, and social institutions from 23 countries around the world.

The Saudi Ministry of Education has planned this conference and its international exhibition to be one of the most prominent specialized educational events; providing a global framework for communication and experience sharing, in accordance with international best practices. It is the foremost platform where the Ministry seeks to communicate with leading academics and world-renowned educational institutions, bringing them together under one roof, to discuss cooperation aimed at upgrading the quality of education to the highest international standards. The goal is to build a knowledge society and contribute to the continued development of education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The exhibition and conference are about creating an educational environment that transcends borders, reaching new horizons of global cooperation, and establishing strong ties with the world’s most renowned institutions and educational bodies to achieve the single common goal of building citizens of the future.

The Vice President, Prof. Malek Alsharairi, the Director of the German Language Center (GLC), Jacqueline Rogler, Mr. Muhammad Abu Hammour from the Admission and Registration Department, and GJU graduate Muhammad Samhan represented GJU in the event.

Dr. Alsharairi indicated that the participation of GJU embodies its vision of openness to partners from outside Jordan and the region to enhance cooperation in common interests such as scientific research, teaching, and scientific exchange. He noted that about 140,000 visitors visited the exhibition as the university had a special booth to introduce its unique and qualitative education model, programs, the German year, and the German dimension with light shed on GJU graduates' progress and achievements after graduation.

Dr. Alsharairi added that GJU is a public, bi-national educational institution in cooperation with Germany as it has more than 120 German partner universities and hundreds of companies and institutions from various sectors in Germany.

Furthermore, the German Jordanian University booth was visited by many school students and interested parents of all nationalities, members of the Jordanian community, and the Jordanian Consul in Riyadh, Mr. Mohammad Al- Qudah.

On the sideline of the conference, Dr. Alsharairi met with some university presidents in Saudi Arabia and discussed areas of cooperation and partnership, especially with the growing interest in applied, technical, and vocational education. He also met with the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Riyadh, Mr. Ali Al-Kayed, and GJU graduates working in Saudi Arabia.
