The German Jordanian University participated in the in the Final Conference of Urban Minorities that was held in Weimer, Germany from 12-15 November 2014.

 

Dr. Yasser Rajjal, Assistant to the President for Communication and Public Relations, and Dr. Maram Tawil, Head of the Department of Architecture have represented GJU in the conference through delivering papers and presentations.

 

Dr. Rajjal presented a paper entitled: Diversity and Inclusion: National and Mobile Stakeholders in Jordan”, as Dr. Tawil gave a presentation on “planning in Jordan: Insights into Planning Cooperation in the Middle East”.

 

This Conference concluded a three years cooperation project (2012-2014) comprising of a number of workshops held in Germany, Egypt, Jordan and Turkey, for students, young academics, and professors from Bauhaus University – Weimer in Germany, University of Alexandria, German Jordanian University, Istanbul Sehir University, and University of Tehran.

 

The project is conducted within the program of “Academic Dialogue with the Islamic World” enabled by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and funded by the Foreign Office.
