The German Jordanian University ranked first in the innovation criterion, third locally among Jordanian universities, and 679th globally according to the (Scimago) World Classification of Educational Institutions for 2022, hence occupying an advanced position within the best first quarter (Q1) among the world universities.

Scimago Foundation for universities worldwide conducts annually this impartial classification. It is based on three main pillars of assessment; scientific research by 50%, innovation by 30%, and societal impact by 20%.

The President of GJU,  Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli indicated that this achievement confirms and enhances the strategic vision of the university for 2022 and beyond, to be internationally recognized as an Applied science university, to be a leader in education, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, through the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship (DIE.TECH) that was recently established at the university.

Dr. Al-Halhouli added that the university’s applied approach, the German dimension, such as building solid partnerships with German universities, factories, and companies and involving students and staff in cultural exchange programs in Germany, contributed to achieving this accomplishment.

Dr. Al-Halhouli pointed out that the university is currently working on accrediting its programs by the German Accreditation Council according to European standards for education, which will raise its academic reputation and make it easier for its graduates to work and study, especially in Europe.
