For the fifth time in a row since 2018, the German Jordanian University (GJU) has achieved a distinguished ranking among the top 1,000 universities in the world and third place locally according to QS rating the world's QS rankings after the University of Jordan and The Jordan University of Science and Technology.

The President of GJU, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, indicated that the university’s presence in such classifications is evidence of its excellence, success, and the intensive efforts of its employees, adding that the results also is compatible with its vision and strategy for the year 2022 and beyond to be a pioneering international applied university in leadership, innovation, and scientific research.

Dr. Al-Halhouli stressed that the results of the number of citations for faculty members, the student-to-professor ratio, and the ratio of foreign faculty members are in line with the applied German model of education that the university is keen to implement.

For his part, Dr. Murad Al Samhouri, the Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Department, said that this achievement resulted from the diligent work of the academic schools and administrative units at GJU.

He added that efforts are intensifying to obtain the accreditation of the university's programs by the German Accreditation Council according to European standards, and this will push for outstanding educational outputs for graduates in the labor market and will reflect very positive results in the level of recognition of the certificate of GJU.

The QS is considered one of the most distinguished classifications in the world. It is based on six indicators; the academic reputation, the reputation among the recruitment companies, the ratio of faculty members per student, citations of the academic members, international academic members, and international students at the university.

It is noteworthy that the German Jordanian University was distinguished by the ratio of foreign academic staff members and enrolled foreign students, as it ranked first locally in the percentage of foreign faculty members and the number of faculty members per student.
