The German Jordanian University and the employment-oriented vocational training project in the field of craft professions, implemented by the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ), funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), celebrated the graduation of one hundred and fifty career counselors who successfully completed the requirements of the approved training program within the fifth level according to The National Qualifications Framework, where one hundred and fourteen career counselors obtained a certificate to practice the profession for the first time in Jordan.

During the ceremony, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Labor, Farouk Al-Hadidi, stressed the importance of vocational guidance in helping job seekers to evaluate their readiness and inclinations, and develop them with the best capabilities so that they can choose the profession that suits them to help them achieve success in their careers, and also, to guide senior management in choosing professions that are commensurate with their capabilities.

For her part, the representative of the Consultation and Training Center at the German Jordanian University, Dr. Basma Al-Taher, indicated that the university always seeks excellence and contributes to directing the potentials to build a bright future, praising the efforts made by the technical cadres to enhance the role of the university in serving Jordanian society and workers in the public and private sectors.

In turn, the Director of the Vocational and Technical Skills Development Authority confirmed that the Authority had cooperated with partners to prepare the first version of the unified national strategy for the education and vocational training sector, and in implementation of that, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor, a national technical committee for vocational guidance was formed.

The graduation ceremony was attended by the Director General of the Vocational Training Corporation, Eng. Ahmed Gharaibeh, the Director of the National Company for Employment and Training, General Suleiman Al Faouri, and the Director of Training and Employment, Muhammad Al So’ub.

It is worth noting that more than 150 career counselors working in the public and private sectors and major vocational training providers participated in the first applied phase, in addition to a group of counselors working in universities.
