Amman- 30 July 2017

On 30th of July 2017, The School of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at GJU, organized an introductory lecture about “Masar Initiative”, one of the crown Prince Foundation’s (CPF) Initiatives to support and empower young Jordanian to employ their full potential and creativity.

The Program Manager for NASA International Internship and Masar program at the Crown Prince Foundation Mr. Sanad Haddad presented the lecture to GJU’s students giving them an insight about the initiative, its goals, missions, and technical specifics.

Mr. Haddad took part in the NASA international internship program, sponsored by CPF and completed a 10 weeks internship at NASA Ames Research Center in California, he had the privilege to work on designing an underwater communication system for exploring Jupiter's icy moon.

It's worth mentioning that  Masar initiative aims to inspire and address youth’s passion for innovation in space technology, the first NASA interns’ research and interest in nanosatellite technology inspired them to establish the CubeSat program and its design of “JY1-SAT” — Jordan’s first satellite — in memory of His Majesty the late King Hussein (who held the call sign of JY1), where the program’s mentors and advisors guide volunteer engineering students in their exploration of satellite engineering through training, research and practical hands-on experience that will result in the JY1-SAT’s launch into space.
