The German Jordanian University and the National Center for Innovation (NJC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to adopt the Jordanian open innovation platform (JOIP) as an official platform for scientific research, creativity and innovation activities at GJU.
The memorandum, which was signed by GJU’s President, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, the Secretary-General of the Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST) and the acting director of (NCI), Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai to unify national efforts and available resources to achieve mutual strategic goals for the aim of enriching scientific research, creativity and innovation and promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences among institutions of common interest.
For his part, Al-Halhouli praised (NJC)’s role as a national umbrella for the system of creativity, innovation and scientific research, indicating that the adoption of the platform that algin’s with GJU's directions in enabling professors and researchers to benefit from the platform's services and unique features, as it is linked to global databases, which contributes to enriching research and facilitating the process of networking and communication between researchers.
Prof. Al-Refai stressed the importance of the MOU in introducing the services, features and characteristics provided by (JOIP) to the scientific research community and its vital role in publishing the Jordanian researchers and innovators achievements, praising the university's efforts in strengthening the scientific research system and encouraging its students to creativity and innovation, noting that GJU is the first university in Jordan to establish a Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship.
The Jordanian open innovation platform (JOIP) is the first digital platform of its kind that provides services to researchers and creators and enables them to obtain the necessary information.
Higher Education Council has taken a decision to adopt the platform as an official reference for Jordanian universities, faculty members and researchers.
