The German Jordanian University will open a bachelor’s program in nursing, starting from the first semester of the academic year 2023/2024. This comes in accordance with the strategic plan of GJU to develop majors that keep pace with the needs of the local, Arab and international markets, especially in Germany.
The program aims to prepare and graduate qualified nursing staff, equipped with practical, international, linguistic knowledge and experience, and with high professionalism that enables them to provide the best health and nursing care services and meet the growing needs in the health care sector.
The university cooperates with a number of leading Jordanian hospitals to provide distinguished practical training for its students during the first three years. In addition to the fourth year, where the students spend it in Germany studying at a German partner university for one semester and fulfill an internship for 5 months in German hospital or health care sector. This gives the students an additional advantage that enables them to work in the German and European healthcare sector that suffers from an acute shortage of nurses. GJU also signed a cooperation agreement with the Triple Win program implemented through the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), through which graduate students will be rehabilitated and prepared to work in the German health sector.
The program will also focus on promoting scientific research in the field of nursing and strengthening communication with local, German and international research centers, and contribute to improving the practice of the nursing profession and health services provided to the community in accordance with international standards and strengthening the link between the outputs of the School of Nursing and the needs of the community.
