Amman- 26 July, 2017

On Wednesday 26th of July 2017, a group of GJU Logistics students and their professor Dr. Ismail Abushaika, together with representatives of the Office for Industrial Links (OIL), paid a visit to Petra Trading & Investment Company in Naour. The group was very warm welcomed by Petra’s committed senior management and its employees and received an overview about the company’s mission, values and brands including a special briefing about its warehouse facilities. Thereafter, visitors from GJU went for a tour in Petra’s U-Shaped Warehouse to learn more about their inbound & outbound logistics activities, advanced storage systems and the developed material handling equipment. Students had the opportunity to watch warehouse operations “in action” and learn more about the warehouse’s mezzanine and satellite systems.

At the end, GJU representatives and Petra’s CEO expressed their willingness to enhance their cooperation in the future through building a strategic partnership, which will include job and internship opportunities, common research and development, innovation and Dual Study programs.

Such company visits go in line with GJU’s applied approach, as they enable students to see the real application of what they study in theory and enhance mutual university-industry cooperation.
