The President of the German Jordanian University (GJIU), Prof. Ala'aldeen Al-Halhouli, participated in the symposium organized by the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University of Jordan (UJ), entitled Universities and Digital Transformation, under the patronage of UJ President, His Excellency Dr. Natheer Obeidat, and the participation of the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Mr. Ahmed Hanandeh.

During the symposium, Dr. Al-Halhouli indicated that the GJU was able to build bridges of cooperation between Jordan and Germany, as it is currently partnering with about 120 German universities and more than 5,000 factories and companies that welcome students during the German year.

Dr. Al-Halhouli added that the university, in the framework of its transformation to digitization, established the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH) to be a pioneering and innovative, and signed a memorandum of understanding with the German company Siemens to transform into sustainable campus and established smart rooms to facilitate distance and blended education, in addition to computerizing most of its internal systems for a better service to both students and staff.

Furthermore, Dr. Al-Halhouli highlighted the university's aspiration to support Jordan's plan for economic transformation, establish laboratories for digital manufacturing, qualify young people for the external labor market, and gather companies specialized in digitization inside the campus.
