The Higher Education Council, chaired by Dr. Adel Al-Twaisi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, decided to appoint Professor. Manar Fayyad as President of the German Jordanian University for four years.
Professor. Fayyad occupied the position of the Vice-President of the German Jordanian University for the last four years, she has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Bonn University- Germany, and she is the head of the higher committee for Water Quality in Jordan/Ministry of Water and Irrigation.
It is worthy to mention that Professor. Fayyad has won the Arab Woman Award in Science and Technology for Development in 2014 in the field of environmental sciences.
