Part of the activities connected with the course of Healthcare facilities design studio instructed by  Dr. Omaimah Arja; and Arch. Dana Massarweh, teaching assistant; A group of students from the School of Architecture and Built environment (SABE) at the German Jordanian University (GJU), visited the Stem Cell Therapy Center at the University of Jordan.  

It is now a well-established form of treatment for the expansion and generation of human tissues and even organs such as skin to treat burn victims, diabetic skin lesions and other skin conditions. For this purpose the University of Jordan has initiated and completed all the steps needed to establish a standalone center approved by the council for higher education and directed by Dr. Abdalla Abbadi.

The students learnt about the use of human stem cells for therapeutic purposes, and how such centers could be built and its certain regulations and demands in order to be able to design a stem cell treatment center.  

The center members along several doctors welcomed the students. They introduced the center where several functions, room designs, and the certain requirement in designing stem cell therapy center were explained to the students. Furthermore, as part of the center development plan, a second floor plan is under construction as part of the centers expansion plan. Arch. Yasmin Al-Masri; project manager and owner representative, thankfully explained and took the students into a tour explaining all the construction details and restricted design rules to such center.
