Students from the School of Applied Humanities and Languages (SAHL) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) visited The Jordanian Prime Ministry on Thursday, October 17, 2019. The trip aimed to introduce students enrolled in the GEBC course Overview: Politics & Institutions to the executive branch of the Jordanian government.

SAHL students were welcomed by employees at the Prime Ministry.

Thereafter, His Excellency Minister Sami Al Daoud, Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs invited the students to a brief one on one discussion with him, where each student got the chance to ask politically related questions regarding Jordan. The questions were answered by Minister Al Daoud. Also, the students were briefed about the current political affairs in the region and recent amendments made to the constitution in addition to pending amendments.

Furthermore, SAHL was encouraged to take part in the upcoming elections and have a voice in changing the political scene in Jordan through their suggestions and active participation in government-funded campaigns and political youth groups.

Minister Al Daoud expressed how impressed he was with the quality of students he saw after receiving intelligent and elegant questions from the 13 the German Jordanian University SAHL students. He displayed his admiration for the level of education theses students exhibited during their discussion with him.

The visit was concluded by a group photo with His Excellency Minister Al Daoud and a short tour of the main decision making meeting room where His Majesty King Abdullah meets with the Prime Minister and his Cabinet.
