The Tourism Committee of the Jordanian Senate Visited the German Jordanian University. During the visit the Chairman of the Tourism and Heritage Committee, Eng. Abdul Hakim Al-Hindi, stressed on the importance of the university’s approach to opening an educational path related to tourism, heritage and culture, as it is a key pillar in building bridges of communication and exporting culture and history abroad.

During the committee’s visit, Al-Hindi engaged in discussions with the President of GJU, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, indicating that the tourism sector is witnessing significant growth and is undergoing a qualitative shift that translates the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II and Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, as it constitutes one of the pillars of the Jordanian economy.

Prof. Al-Halhouli explained that GJU is working on developing a bachelor's degree program related to Jordan's cultural and natural heritage, in partnership with national institutions and institutions from Germany, to market Jordan in tourism and culture.

He further explained that a future agreement with the Tourism Promotion Board in order to prepare and train students to become ambassadors of their own country during their studies in Germany will have a very big role in marketing their country in tourism and culture.

In turn, the members of the committee listened to the students' views and observations on domestic tourism, the most important of which is the need to intensify efforts to market Jordan internally.
