The British Ambassador in Amman, Peter Millett said during a lecture hosted by the German Jordanian University (GJU) and in the presence of the University’s President Prof. Natheer Abu.Obeid, that the relations between Jordan and Britain have always enjoyed strength at all political, economic and social levels, as well as the common interest that both countries have in security, stability and prosperity.

 

Ambassador Millett pointed out to the strong cooperative ties between Jordan and Britain, emphasizing that his country is keen to support Jordan in various sectors, the development sector, the educational sector and many others.  

 

The lecture, which was attended by the Vice President for International Affairs, the Dean of Student Affairs, the Assistant to the President for Communications and Public Relations, faculty members and students, discussed a number of topics relating to the current situation in the Middle East.

 

He spoke about the challenges that Jordan is facing in the region as it is considered a security and stability oasis in the Middle East as well as an example with regard to the implementation of comprehensive reforms in various fields.  
 

 

The Ambassador addressed Britain's political efforts in the Middle East to promote positive changes in the Arab region, particularly the humanitarian aspects of assisting Syrian refugees. 
 

 

At the end of the lecture, the students discussed with the ambassador the recent developments in the region including the political and economic crises.
