Under the patronage of the GJU President Prof. Natheer Abu Obeid, the Office of Industrial Links of GJU has inaugurated the University Industry Partnerships Workshop in collaboration with the German Ministry of Education and Research and Hochshule Magdeburg –Stendal.

 

In his speech Prof. Abu.Obeid, asserted that this workshop aims at defining possibilities of cooperation between GJU and the industrial partners in Jordan together with the German partners in the fields of technology transfer, applied teaching and research.

 

The president also appreciated the participant’s coming to Jordan in a time where Jordan is facing big challenges.

”  I have to admit that we are facing serious challenges, specially by those who want to take us back to the dark ages, but at the same time I assure you that by doing what we are doing, we are making the right statement, the best answer and the strongest response “ Abu.Obeid said .

 

Prof. Andreas Geiger , Rector ret., Hochshule Magdeburg –Stendal delivered an insight about the applied sciences approaches, the distinguished philosophy of applied sciences, the transfer of Industry and the knowledge and technology transfer of universities.  

 

In his presentation “Universities of Applied Sciences as Drivers of Regional Innovation “ Prof.Geiger pointed out to the specific GJU methods  of applied sciences , the knowledge exchange, global distribution, specific research tasks and the evaluation of corporate process.  

 

The workshop is lasting for 2 days including several presentations and discussions by experts from the two sides, the Jordanian and German Industrial partners in the fields of business management and logistics sciences, health care, industrial and civil engineering, and renewable energy.

 

It is worthy to mention the participants of the workshop are from both Germany including professors from German partner universities and their industrial partners, and from Jordan including GJU faculty members and Jordanian industry representatives, in addition to Prof. Anton Mangstl,  Vice President for International Affairs, and Britta Kähler, the Director of the Office for Industrial Links as well.

 

GJU had the honor to have distinguished participants in the workshop Mr. Hassenbach, representative of the German Ministry of Education and Research, Dr. Ines Geßner the Deputy Head of Mission - German Embassy, and Eng. Omar Abu Weshah, Member of the Board of Trustees of GJU.
