As part of the Visual Rehabilitation Center’s (VRC) commitment to spread awareness about visual disabilities and visual rehabilitation, and within the framework of promoting cultural exchange with German students, the center offered a special workshop for incoming students from Germany to learn the Arabic Language and learn about the local culture.

Students were given a tour in the center along with some activities using simulation glasses for visual impairment, in order to understand the impact of visual impairment on the visually impaired people and their ability to perform various tasks of daily life. A lecture in addition to several interactive activities were presented by the visual rehabilitation specialist at VRC, including a presentation of the assistive and magnifying devices needed by those with visual disabilities and the rehabilitation techniques necessary to improve their visual abilities and quality of life.

Noting the importance of this workshop; the participants expressed their appreciation for the services provided by the center, which include training courses for specialists, visual rehabilitation services and community activities to raise awareness.

This workshop reflects GJU's commitment to community service, raising community awareness, and providing a useful and supportive learning environment for young people.
