The German Jordanian University (GJU), in cooperation with the Association of Arab University AArU, conducted a webinar session on German Jordanian University: A unique Model in Joint Applied Education.

The President, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, presented GJU’s strategic vision as an internationally recognized university in Applied Science, to be a leader in education, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, also to stand out as a role model in strengthening the bridges between Germany and Jordan and the world. Dr. Al-Halhouli also presented the university's plans and projects, achievements, and work priorities for the next phase.

For his part, Vice President for International Affairs, Prof. Ralph Rosskopf, explained joint education with German partners as a strategic partner, in addition to an introduction to applied education at GJU, practical training, and study in German universities as part of the study plan for all disciplines offered by the university.

The Dean of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Nidal Al-Shawareh, presented the Deanship tasks, objectives, and services. He introduced the Dual Studies program offered by the university in partnership with the industry.

Engineer Rasha Al-Hamoud, Director of the International Projects Office, provided an overview of the projects supported by external parties and related statistics, highlighting the actions taken by GJU to gain support for research projects, develop capabilities and implement them successfully under the desired goals.

The manager of EDU-SYRIA / EDU-JORDAN program, Dr. Dhiah Abu Tair stressed the importance of the EDU-SYRIA II project, which started in 2016 and was funded with €11 million, to provide 1,000 higher education scholarships to Syrian refugees and Jordanian in refugee-hosting communities. He also stated that the program's work was not limited to selecting eligible students and providing scholarships, but also, over the years, it has monitored the students' academic performance and conducted a number of training and qualification courses to empower them with various skills.
