The German Jordanian University (GJU) would like to announce the commencement of the German Weeks in both GJU main campus in Madaba and Jabal Amman from 12th- 26 May 2022.

The German Weeks, a Transnational Education (TNE) Activity sponsored by DAAD, aims to strengthen the German dimension at the German Jordanian University through a set of activities and events that targets GJU staff/faculty members, GJU students, and other interested participants from German and other Jordanian universities.

The events include the inaugurations of both the German Lounge/Dialogpunkt and the Orange Digital Center Club & the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH). Furthermore, the IDL@GJU project will have a week of activities for GJU students and a group of German guest students focusing on data literacy through a series of lectures and seminars. In addition, the IDL@GJU project will organize a Data Hackathon for selected students, where the results of the Hackathon activities will be presented publicly.

In order to enhance the academic intercultural exchange, a faculty reception for GJU academic staff and GJU international guests which will offer a platform for networking between German/European and GJU professors. Further, German weeks will also include an international students' Day and server booths for the International Office, the Deanship of Student Affairs, the EDU-SYRIA project, the Goethe Institute, and many other participating German institutions.

The German Weeks just started on 12.05.2022 and will last until 26.05.2022. The first event was a seminar that targets high school students to introduce them to the newly established study program entitled Design & Media Informatics. This program has been intensively by the involvement of GJU German partners and both the School of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and the School of Architecture and Built Environment.
