The Visual Training Center (VTC) at the German Jordanian University(GJU), celebrated the graduation of the tenth batch of the Visual Rehabilitation Diploma students, that aims to provide specialists to deal with people with visual challenges, raise the quality of their life and increase independence in society.

The President of GJU, Prof. Manar Fayyad said that the center was established to provide examination, rehabilitation and training services for people with visual disabilities along with VTC’s employees, considering it as part of the university's mission and responsibilities towards society.

Fayyad congratulated the graduates whose specialties varied between the examiners, physical treatment, special education and psychology for their hard work to meet the requirements of the program, urging them to utilize experiences gained in their institutions and community.

VTC Director, Dr. Naseem Al-Nu’man said that visual disabilities can be rehabilitated with the necessary expertise and guidance, pointing to the center’s role in transferring knowledge and experience to trainees from outside Jordan.

From her side, lecturer Maysa Massoud presented the center’s achievements for the year 2017 in providing rehabilitation services for about 130 patients and the distribution of visual aids, in addition to launching two electronic courses in visual rehabilitation.

Graduates Danieh Jareeri from Jordan and Faythos Okafor from Nigeria valued the theoretical and practical training they received during their study, expressing their appreciation to GJU for its contribution to people with special needs, especially the category of visual disabilities and rehabilitation.
