Dr. Farah Al-Atrash, Dean of Student Affairs (DSA) at the German Jordanian University (GJU), participated in a dialogue session organized by the Jordanian Ministry of Youth at the Hussein Youth City, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Raed Adwan, Minister of Youth, and Dr. Mazen Abu Baqar, Secretary-General of the Ministry, alongside deans of student affairs and community initiative coordinators from public and private universities in Jordan.
The meeting was part of the Ministry’s efforts to strengthen cooperation with universities in implementing youth programs aimed at empowering young people, developing their leadership skills, and enhancing their participation in national, community, and volunteer initiatives.
Dr. Farah Al-Atrash emphasized the importance of building sustainable partnerships between the university and the Ministry of Youth to support student initiatives and expand their opportunities in national programs. She highlighted the university’s commitment to encouraging students to engage in voluntary activities, fostering active citizenship, and contributing to community service and sustainable development.
She also stressed the importance of student participation in the King Hussein Bin Abdullah II Award for Volunteer Work, a national platform that promotes volunteerism and motivates youth to launch community initiatives with lasting impact.
The dialogue concluded with a presentation of the Ministry’s programs in leadership empowerment, cultural, artistic, and sports activities, along with discussions on expanding university cooperation to reach a wider student audience and encourage active participation in national and youth initiatives.
