Pre-Year Requirements:

For the engineering programmes B.Eng. Hydrogen Technology  and B. Eng. Advanced Materials students need the General Secondary Certificate (Jordanian Tawjihi) or any other equivalent certificate. Degree: 80% average and need to have come form the scientific stream of their studies.

Demonstrating proficiency B2 in the English language is mandatory.

The recognized certifications for demonstrating language proficiency at THWS following the pre-year are:

• Valid TOEFL IBT® test result of at least 83 points (internet-based)
• Valid IELTS test with at least 6.0 points
• Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE) or Cambridge B2 First, minimum grade C
• Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) or Cambridge C1 Advanced, minimum level B2
• UNIcert® Certificate, minimum level II (UniCert® II)

New students will need to take a math placement at GJU test when registering.

THWS Requirements:

The prerequisites for admission to both programs are proof of:

• The general university entrance qualification for German universities of applied sciences.
• The subject-related university entrance qualification (also conveyed by the GJU pre-year).
• The advanced technical college entrance qualification, or
• Entrance qualification for a bachelor's degree program at universities of applied sciences recognized as equivalent by law or by the competent state authority.

Higher Diploma in Taxation

Admission Requirements:

To apply for admission, the following minimum requirements must be met:

• Bachelor’s degree in a regular study program from a recognized university with a minimum GPA of “Good” in a related field.
• English language proficiency proof through passing the IELTS test with a minimum score of 5.0 or the TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 59.
• A motivation letter by the applicant, and two recommendation letters by references.
• All applicants or shortlisted will be subjected to panel interviews.
• Preference will be given to applicant with:

           i. Bachelor’s degree in accounting business, economics, or law.

           ii. Relevant professional certification.

           iii. Relevant practical experience of at least one year in taxation, financial management, accounting, or a related field.

General Admission Conditions

• A Bachelor's degree with no less than a "good" rating from a recognized university.
• Proof of English language proficiency (TOEFL iBT or IELTS).
• Pass the personal interview.

Required Documents

• A scanned copy of the high school certificate and the disclosure of high school marks.
• Scanned copies of the Bachelor's degree certificate and transcript, and any other degrees (if applicable). Noting that the system of university marks must be indicated on the transcript.
• A scanned copy of your English language proficiency exam result.
• A scanned copy of your Identification Card (for Jordanians), or a scanned copy of your passport (for non-Jordanians).

Admission Requirements for GJU PhD Programs

• A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a minimum rating of good (or equivalent) and a Master’s degree (or equivalent) with a minimum rating of good (or equivalent). All degrees must be granted from universities recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Jordan.
• He/she shall prove that his/her study was regular for both the bachelor’s and master’s degrees. 

Additional Admission Requirements

• Demonstrating interest in the German language and culture, and in teaching German language and culture.
• Other criteria upon the suggestion of the Department Council and a recommendation of the Graduate Studies Council and a Deans's Council decision, such as academic behavior.
• A Master’s thesis rated very good or excellent, or comparable scientific work (articles, research papers, conference papers, etc.).
• A 10–20 page Exposé detailing a clearly defined and manageable research question, a summary of the state-of-the-art status of research in the appropriate field, the proposed methodology, an outlook on the estimated results, a list of crucial references, and a timeline.
• German Language skills are to be verified through the official German Language exams TestDaF 4x4 (or 16, cumulative).
• Successful completion of oral readiness exam.
