The Industrial Engineering Club at the German Jordanian University (GJU), in collaboration with Dr. Leena Abu Al-Hija, hosted a discussion session titled "Inside Consulting" with several alumni from the Faculty of Applied Technical Sciences. The session aimed to discuss the first steps after graduation.
The three alumni shared their professional experiences and expertise in the fields of research, analysis, and consulting, highlighting how they benefited from the applied education offered by the university.
The session featured Engineer Mouhamed Alsafadi, Research and Development Specialist at Potenza Chemical Industries; Engineer Mayar Aljundi, Business Analyst at Mercer Middle East; and Engineer Yousef Refai, Senior Consultant at BI Consulting.
Alsafadi emphasized the role of practical training and applied education at the university in enhancing his practical and theoretical skills, which helped him excel in the research and development sector. He also underscored the importance of developing scientific skills to keep up with advances in the field.
Meanwhile, Aljundi highlighted the importance of critical thinking and analytical skills she acquired at the university, which enabled her to enter the fields of analysis and consulting within a multinational work environment. She also emphasized the role of practical training in strengthening her communication skills and her ability to face challenges with confidence.
For his part, Refai explained that the applied education and practical experiences at the German Jordanian University helped him adapt to the demands of the job market in the consulting field. He stressed the importance of fast learning and flexibility in handling various projects.
At the end of the session, the alumni opened the floor for students to ask questions about their career paths and how to prepare for professional life. The students engaged actively with the alumni’s advice on developing personal skills, benefiting from practical training, and enhancing critical thinking.
The alumni collectively agreed that the university played a significant role in preparing them for the job market by offering a blend of theoretical and applied education, which enabled them to achieve distinguished professional accomplishments.
