The German Jordanian University (GJU), through the Deanship of Student Affairs (DSA), organized the Student Parliament elections in a civilized national setting that reflects a high level of awareness and responsibility. It also presents a distinguished model that simulates parliamentary elections at the national level, in the presence of the university president, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Farah Al-Atrash, as well as members of the academic and administrative staff and the university’s students.
The President of GJU, Prof. Ala’aldeen Halhouli, affirmed that these elections do not merely represent a student activity or an administrative procedure, but rather an important educational and national milestone. They help consolidate the values of participation, responsibility, and belonging, and enhance the role of the university as an integrated environment for preparing students academically and personally, and enabling them to practice their rights and duties with awareness and understanding.
He pointed out that the university’s applied educational model is not limited to academic excellence, but also extends to building students’ personalities, refining their leadership skills, and preparing a generation capable of creativity, initiative, and positive contribution to serving society and the nation.
Dr. Farah Al-Atrash confirmed that the electoral process was characterized by integrity, organization, and a spirit of cooperation, as students actively participated in its various stages, whether through candidacy, voting, or organization. This reflects their commitment to the success of this democratic experience and the consolidation of a culture of informed choice and teamwork.
These activities come as part of GJU’s efforts to promote the values of active citizenship and contribute to preparing aware youth leaders capable of taking responsibility and actively participating in building the future of Jordan.
