The Deanship of Student Affairs (DSA) at the German Jordanian University (GJU), in collaboration with Knights of Peace, organized a specialized seminar entitled: “Game Changers: The Green Sheikh’s Global Call to Action”. The session was delivered by His Highness Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Nuaimi, Environmental Advisor to the Government of Ajman, widely known as “The Green Sheikh”. The event was attended by the President of the University, the President of Knights of Peace, several members of the academic and administrative staff, and a large group of students GJU.

In his speech, the President of GJU, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, affirmed the University’s commitment to spreading environmental awareness and embedding the principles of sustainability through education and community initiatives. He highlighted the pivotal role of youth in addressing current environmental challenges. He also warmly welcomed Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Nuaimi, appreciating his valuable contribution to fostering constructive dialogue towards a green and sustainable future.

On his part, Dr. Ameen Abu Hijleh, President of Knights of Peace, expressed his pleasure in holding this seminar on the campus of GJU, noting the importance of the event as an inspiring platform to empower youth in creating change through dialogue and experience. He emphasized the significance of collaborating with the University to deliver this global message, which combines environmental awareness with community engagement.

During the seminar, His Highness Sheikh Al Nuaimi explained that the Game Changers initiative focuses on both humanity and the planet—highlighting those human beings are the essence of change through conscious leadership in serving their communities, nations, and faith. At the same time, the earth represents a shared responsibility that requires raising awareness about the importance of sustainability and facing environmental challenges with a spirit of commitment and accountability. He also distributed copies of his publications as symbolic gifts to students in support of spreading environmental culture among the younger generations.

The event included the screening of introductory videos about the environmental programs and initiatives supervised by Sheikh Al Nuaimi, alongside active participation from volunteer and youth teams dedicated to environmental development.

Khitam Al-Huwaiyat from the southern Badia in Ma’an Governorate, one of the participants in the environmental programs under Sheikh Al Nuaimi’s supervision in the United Arab Emirates, shared her personal experience. She spoke about the profound impact these programs had on developing her agricultural and environmental skills, praising the efforts of the Sheikh and his team in empowerment and practical training. She said this experience enabled her to return to her homeland with a spirit of initiative and giving.

At the conclusion of the seminar, commemorative plaques were exchanged between the German Jordanian University, His Highness Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Nuaimi, and Knights of Peace, in recognition of their efforts in making the seminar a success and promoting fruitful collaboration among them.
