As part of its ongoing support for national pioneering programs, the German Jordanian University (GJU) participated in a specialized training program for teaching foreign languages, launched by the Directorate of Military Education and Culture. The initiative aims to enhance cultural exchange and develop the linguistic skills of students in military schools.
The university participated through the School of Applied Humanities and Social Sciences by offering a training course in the German language for female students at Fatima Al-Zahraa Secondary School for Girls in Marj Al-Hamam. This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to its academic and social role in promoting a culture of openness and linguistic diversity among younger generations.
The five-week program aims to empower students in German, French, and Chinese languages through 30 hours of intensive training, led by a team of expert instructors and utilizing modern, interactive methodologies that combine hands-on practice with advanced learning technologies.
In his remarks during the program’s opening ceremony, Brigadier General Dr. Saleh Al-Khalayleh, Director of the Directorate of Military Education and Culture, emphasized the importance of the initiative in fostering understanding and cultural openness. He stressed that learning languages is a gateway to discovering civilizations and building bridges between nations.
For his part, Professor Dr. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, President of GJU, expressed the university’s pride in this fruitful partnership, which aligns with its vision of preparing students to engage with the world in its various languages and cultures. He reaffirmed the university’s support for national initiatives that aim to empower youth and enhance their skills.
The Chinese Cultural Attaché also expressed appreciation for this joint effort, describing the teaching of the Chinese language in Jordan as a distinguished model of cultural exchange and openness between the two friendly nations.
The event concluded with a tour of the training classrooms, attended by the Chinese military and cultural attachés, as well as several academic, military, and diplomatic leaders and representatives of supporting institutions. Attendees observed the program's implementation and training methods amid an atmosphere of enthusiasm and positive engagement from the participating students.
Through this participation, the German Jordanian University reaffirms its continued commitment to its academic and social mission and its role as an active partner in supporting educational and developmental projects that contribute to building a knowledgeable and empowered generation ready to meet the challenges of the future.
