The festival, organized by the Forum on Digitalization in Higher Education (Hochschulforum Digitalisierung), the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education (Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre), and the Stifterverband, is one of Europe’s leading platforms specializing in envisioning the future of higher education and discussing the rapid transformations universities are undergoing at technological, social and economic levels.
The festival’s sessions focused on how higher education institutions are responding to the growing challenges posed by rapid developments in artificial intelligence technologies, digital transformation, changing labor market requirements and rising societal expectations, whilst emphasizing that these pressures represent a genuine opportunity to foster institutional innovation and build universities that are more resilient and better prepared for the future.
The program comprised seven main themes, including: a holistic vision; artificial intelligence, technologies and infrastructure; communication; skills for the future; innovation; human resources; and structures and strategies, reflecting the various dimensions of transformation in higher education institutions – academically, administratively, technologically and in terms of human resources.
The University President, Professor Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, emphasized that the University’s participation in this international event reflects its commitment to actively engaging in global academic dialogues and drawing on international best practices to develop the higher education system, thereby strengthening its position as an international academic partner that helps shape the future of university education.
He emphasised that the topics addressed at the festival are in line with the German-Jordanian University’s strategic plan, particularly in the areas of digital transformation, innovation in teaching and learning, the development of future-oriented skills, and the modernisation of institutional structures. This reinforces the university’s commitment to providing a cutting-edge academic environment that keeps pace with global changes, and consolidates its vision, ‘The Power of Partnership: The German-Jordanian University Moves Towards Globalization’, by expanding its international partnerships and strengthening its presence on global academic platforms.
