German Jordanian University (GJU) and Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie (PTUK) have concluded the activities of the International Summer School in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, which lasted for one full week and served as a specialized academic platform for exchanging knowledge and expertise in advanced technology fields, with the participation of students and researchers from Jordan and Palestine.

 

During the closing ceremony, which was held under the patronage of GJU President, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, and the President of Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, Prof. Hussein Shannak, certificates were awarded to participants who successfully completed the training program, in recognition of their commitment and active engagement in the scientific and practical activities included in the summer school.

 

Prof. Al-Halhouli emphasized that artificial intelligence and machine learning have become key drivers of development across various sectors, highlighting the importance of investing in youth potential and empowering them with the skills and knowledge needed to compete in a rapidly changing global environment. He also stressed the importance of joint academic initiatives that enhance scientific cooperation, foster innovation, and promote knowledge exchange between educational institutions.

 

The summer school coordinators from both sides affirmed that the program represented a successful model of academic cooperation between the two institutions. It contributed to strengthening scientific and cultural exchange among students and researchers, in addition to building professional and academic networks that support their future careers in technology and innovation.

 

At the conclusion of the ceremony, certificates were distributed to participants, who expressed their appreciation for the academic experience provided by the summer school, noting that it expanded their knowledge, refined their skills, and opened new horizons for learning and research in the fields of artificial intelligence and machine learning.

 

The program included a series of specialized lectures and hands-on workshops in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics, delivered by academics and experts from partner educational institutions. This provided participants with advanced practical opportunities to acquire skills and develop promising research and applied project ideas.

 

The summer school, supervised by Prof. Kamel Jebreen from Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, along with Prof. Anas Attia and Eng. Haneen Abboud from GJU, comes within the framework of academic partnership between the two sides and their shared commitment to developing students’ and researchers’ capacities and strengthening scientific and research cooperation in modern technological fields, in line with future needs and the labor market.
