The German Jordanian University (GJU) celebrated the graduation of participants in the specialized training course titled “Innovative Teaching with AI and Blended Learning: Practical Applications in Moodle.” The course was organized by the Center for E-Learning and Academic Performance Improvement (CeLAPI) under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Ala'aldeen Al-Halhouli.
During the ceremony, Prof. Al-Halhouli highlighted the importance of transforming acquired digital skills into effective educational practices within academic courses, in order to enhance learning quality and create a more interactive and practice-oriented university experience. He also engaged in an open dialogue with the participants, discussing the outcomes of the training and exploring ideas for future program development. In his remarks, he reaffirmed the university’s commitment to pioneering strategic initiatives in education, most notably micro-credentials, the E-Certificate program, and the University Skills Map, currently under development to ensure students’ readiness for the labor market across all academic stages.
For his part, Dr. Ziad Abu El-Rub, Director of CeLAPI, reviewed the rapid transformations taking place in the education sector and the university’s proactive role in embracing these changes. He noted that the training course demonstrated how artificial intelligence and blended learning can significantly enhance course design and digital classroom management. Dr. Abu El-Rub also announced several upcoming initiatives, including the launch of the Instructional Design Labs program in February 2026, aimed at producing professional digital courses, as well as the expansion of the E-Certificate program to include all faculty members starting from the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.
The ceremony marked the graduation of 20 participants who successfully completed the course requirements, receiving recognition for their commitment to developing their digital competencies in alignment with the university’s vision for digital transformation and innovation in teaching.
The event concluded with a commemorative group photo and an open invitation to faculty members to participate in CeLAPI’s upcoming initiatives and programs, which aim to foster a culture of continuous learning and further strengthen the university’s position as a regional leader in innovative education.
