The Technology, Research, and Innovation Park (TRIP) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) organized its first industry–academia matching session, held at the DITECH Innovation Lab under the theme, “Circular Economy: Turning Waste into Value.”

The session brought together representatives from Organic G and Safe & Clean, along with faculty members and experts from GJU, to explore opportunities for collaboration in research, development, and innovation, while linking industrial challenges with the expertise and capabilities available at the university.

Representatives from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) also participated in the session, presenting a range of support opportunities available to companies, including training programs, technical consultancy services, and assistance in obtaining specialized certifications and accreditations, all aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the industrial sector.

Discussions resulted in the identification of several potential areas of collaboration, including research and development, technical testing, student projects, and dual education programs. Participants also explored opportunities to benefit from “Industry on Campus” initiatives and to strengthen knowledge and technology transfer between the university and the industrial sector.

This event marks the first in a series of matching sessions that TRIP plans to organize with various industrial sectors, with the aim of strengthening partnerships between the university and industry and transforming academic knowledge and expertise into practical solutions with economic and developmental impact.

TRIP affirmed that it will follow up on the collaboration opportunities identified during the session with participating companies and institutions, ensuring that discussions are translated into tangible projects and partnerships that create added value for all stakeholders.
