The Department of Social Work at The School of Applied Humanities and Social Sciences (SAHSS) at the German Jordanian University (GJU), in partnership with renowned migration expert Prof. Ludger Pries from Ruhr University Bochum (RUB), hosted a dynamic workshop on the Biographical Narrative Research Method.
"Bringing together 16 engaged participants, the workshop served as a key milestone in the international research project 'Stay, Return, or Move On: Comparing the Life Strategies of Forced Migrants in the Transit Countries of Colombia, Jordan, Mexico, and Turkey.' This important initiative is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and is jointly led by RUB’s Faculty of Social Sciences and GJU’s School of Applied Humanities and Social Sciences (SAHSS), under the leadership of Prof. Christine Huth-Hildebrandt.
The event not only deepened understanding of narrative methodologies in migration research but also celebrated cross-border academic collaboration. Participants explored real-world applications of biographical storytelling in the context of forced migration and received Certificates of Participation, marking their active role in this growing field.
This workshop is yet another step in strengthening the academic bridge between Jordan and Germany in tackling global challenges through innovative social research.
