Amman- 30 November 2022

Under the patronage of the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Ministry and Labor Ministry, Yousef Al - Shamali, the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) inaugurated the tenth career fair, with the participation of seventy-five partner companies and institutions from Jordan and Germany.

In his speech, Al-Shamali explained that the University is a success story and a source of pride for Jordanians, adding that GJU's teaching approach supports the government's efforts to solve the unemployment problem in Jordan, explaining that bridging the gap between the outputs of education in universities and their alignment with the requirements of the labor market is one of the vital solutions to the problem.

Moreover, Al-Shamali assured that despite the Ukrainian crisis and the Corona pandemic, Jordan, according to World Bank reports, has a stable economy. In addition, he referred to the depth of the relationship between Jordan and Germany as a central partner for the Kingdom in exports and imports, pointing out that the Ministry will work closely with GJU to provide job opportunities for Jordanian youth in Germany.

For his part, the President of GJU, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, welcomed the participants, including students, graduates, and partners from Jordan and Germany, expressing his pride in the graduates participating in the exhibition either as business owners or as employees of distinguished companies.

Dr. Al-Halhouli indicated that the university works differently with the industrial sector to have a real contribution to support the government effort in building the country and for GJU graduates to be able to create job opportunities and not just search for work, indicating that the university focuses on building strategic ties with companies by reviewing ideas and plans, adopting students, qualifying them, and incubating businesses.

In turn, the General Manager of Rockware in Germany, Oliver Gebert, gave an overview of the company, specializing in the field of information technology in Germany and its other branch within the university campus. He also spoke about working and living in Germany, specifying the need for labor in all fields and specialties and stressing the importance of learning the German language as an additional value to work in Germany.

The Dean of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH), Dr. Nidal Al-Shawawreh, highlighted the role of the Deanship in encouraging a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in the university and society.

It is noteworthy that GJU career fair aims to link university graduates with Jordanian and German companies to obtain suitable job opportunities that match their skill set and education.
