The Department of Architecture at the School of Architecture and Built Environment (SABE) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) organized a specialized lecture for Master’s students in Sustainable Buildings.
The lecture hosted Architect Samah Numan Khalaf as a guest speaker, as part of the university’s efforts to strengthen the link between academic learning and practical application, in alignment with its commitment to promoting sustainability in the engineering sector.
During the lecture, Architect Samah Khalaf, who holds a Master’s degree in Environment and Renewable Energy from GJU, shared her professional experience as an architect and researcher at Assarai Engineering Firm. She presented key concepts of green building and explained the mechanisms for applying the Jordanian Green Building Guide to architectural projects, in addition to outlining the requirements for obtaining the Jordanian Green Building Certification.
The lecture also included practical case studies from professional practice and research, highlighting the importance of integrating sustainability into building design and improving environmental performance. It further enhanced students’ understanding of labor market needs and strengthened the connection between theoretical knowledge and real-world application.
This event reflects the ongoing efforts of GJU to deliver advanced, practice-oriented education that aligns with the latest developments in sustainable architecture and contributes to preparing qualified engineers capable of supporting sustainable development pathways.
