The International Affairs Department (IAD) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) organized a welcome meeting and orientation program for incoming exchange students participating in exchange programs for the second semester of the 2026 academic year, as part of its efforts to promote cultural exchange among different countries.

The meeting included welcoming remarks by Dr. Farah Alatrash, Dean of Student Affairs (DSA), Dr. Jennifer Gronau, Director of IAD, and Ms. Eman Al-Senwar, Student Advisor at the German Language Centre (GLC). The speakers emphasized GJU’s commitment to providing a comprehensive and supportive academic environment for international students throughout their studies. Members of the International Student Club also participated in the event, reflecting the vibrancy of student life at the university and a culture of mutual support among students.

During the meeting, Incoming Coordinator Saleem Abuharb delivered a comprehensive orientation presentation covering essential academic procedures, available campus services, and practical information about living in Jordan. The session aimed to equip students with the knowledge and confidence needed to fully integrate into academic and social life at GJU.

The orientation program also included educational visits to several prominent historical landmarks. Students visited the Amman Citadel and Mount Nebo in Madaba, where they learned about the historical significance of these sites, as well as the famous mosaics of Mount Nebo, enhancing their understanding of Jordan’s cultural heritage.

It is worth noting that the university hosted 10 new incoming exchange students this semester, with 6 students participating in the orientation activities designed to ensure a smooth transition into academic and cultural life at the university and in Jordan.

Through such initiatives, GJU continues to strengthen its role as a leading institution in international education by providing a dynamic academic environment enriched with cultural openness and global engagement.
