On Sunday 18th of June 2017, German Jordanian University (GJU) signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Aqaba Logistics Village (ALV), to promote academic and professional cooperation between the two parties in the fields of: training and internships for students, scientific research support, professional training, and implementation of a dedicated ALV module for the first year in GJU’s logistics bachelor programs.
Dr. Fayyad said that GJU cares about collaborations with the industry and the private sectors in order to equip the students with the essentials skills and knowledge before engaging in the labor market.
General Manager of ALV Mr. Hakam Abul Feilat, discussed further future plans with the university and more engagement with the student’s projects through supervision and implementation.
On another hand Dr. Dorit Shuman vice president for International affairs expressed the importance of linking the academic side with the practical one valuing the great opportunity for the student to be inside ALV to learn more about logistics and supply chain management.
The agreement aims to provide GJU’s students with knowledge and practical skills in the logistics and supply chain management fields, to offer early insights into a range of logistics activities in the world of business, and through giving them the chance to use the theoretical knowledge obtained by the university in a practical context applied in a specialized logistics service provider.
It also aims to sustain and increase faculty collaboration on training projects and facilitate the mutually beneficial flow of ideas that is part of such ongoing exchanges.
The MoU was signed by Acting President of GJU, Dr. Manar Fayyad on behalf of GJU, and General Manager of ALV Mr. Hakam Abul Feilat, on behalf of ALV, with the presence of Dr. Dorit Schumann vice president for International affairs, Dr. Malek Sharairi Acting Dean of the School of Management and Logistic Sciences, Abdel Rahim Alsoussi Head of Management and Logistic Sciences Department, Dr. Loay Salhieh, and Mr. Yazan Al Jalamdeh Sales and Marketing Manager at ALV.
