Rakan Saad Mike Qanawati, a student from the Department of Logistics Sciences at the Business School (BS) at the German Jordanian University (GJU), currently spending a semester at FH Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts as part of the GJU's German Year Program, achieved a remarkable sporting accomplishment by winning first place at the Battle of Germany – Interaktiver Budo Verband (IBV) Championship, held in Sundern, Germany, in the Under-65 kg weight category.

The championship brought together more than 200 male and female athletes from various age groups and weight categories, representing more than three countries, in highly competitive matches characterized by a strong technical standard. This achievement reflects Qanawati’s outstanding performance and his ability to compete successfully on the international stage.

Rakan Qanawati secured the gold medal and first place after a series of impressive bouts, demonstrating exceptional technical skills, determination, and thorough preparation, proudly raising the flags of both GJU and Jordan on the international podium.
