As part of the Interactive Design course offered by the Department of Design and Visual Communication at the School of Architecture and Built Environment (SABE) at the German Jordanian University (GJU), three student teams developed proposals for a dedicated Amman Design Week mobile application, applying human-centered design principles and user experience (UX) research methodologies.
Following the final presentations, the Amman Design Week management selected one of the projects as the starting point for developing the official application for Amman Design Week 2026, recognizing the quality of the concept, the depth of the design process, and the methodology employed throughout its development.
The winning team, consisting of Ayah Farrah, Jana Abu Shaar, Noor Kadri, and Tala Zahran, received a prize of JOD 400 to support the continued development of the project. The team was supervised by Nada Jaffal, with the support of Teaching Assistant Rawan Twal.
This collaboration represents a valuable opportunity to bridge academic learning with professional practice and marks an important step toward empowering a new generation of designers in the fields of User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design. The project also emphasizes the development of innovative digital solutions inspired by the Arabic language, culture, and local context.
The initiative reflects GJU's commitment to promoting applied education by providing students with opportunities to work on real-world projects that strengthen their creative and professional skills while aligning educational outcomes with the needs of today's creative and digital industries.
