As part of the ongoing collaboration between the German Jordanian University (GJU) and the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), and in alignment with a prospective partnership currently under review with the Arab Urban Development Institute (AUDI), architecture students from the School of Architecture and Built Environment at GJU recently showcased an innovative urban project.

Under the Urban Studies course and the supervision of Dr. Maram Tawil and the research member Arch Tala Alsheikh, the students presented their project titled “Green Activities in the Arab City – Participatory Greening of Neighborhoods.” A presentation was delivered to the team of greening Arab cities from GAM, administered and attended by the Director General of Agriculture and Forestry, Eng. Mueen Zuraikat, Eng. Muna Saeed and other Architects, in addition to the AUDI representative, Dr. Hassan AlMuelhi. The student project highlighted community-based approaches to integrating green activities into urban neighborhoods and promoting sustainable urban development.

This initiative reflects GJU’s commitment to applied learning, civic engagement, and fostering strong ties with local and regional partners to tackle pressing urban challenges.
