Students of the German Jordanian University (GJU) continue to demonstrate their outstanding presence in innovation and financial technology fields by achieving a remarkable accomplishment at the FinTech Rally 2026 – Universities Edition Hackathon. They secured first place, in addition to fourth and fifth places,
making them the most represented among the winning teams. This achievement reflects their academic excellence, technical skills, and ability to compete in developing innovative technological solutions.
Teams from GJU, representing the Business School and the School of Computing, and supervised by the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH), qualified for the final stage after extensive competitions involving 340 students from various Jordanian universities. The final stage, held over two days, included 117 students forming 25 teams representing 14 Jordanian universities, following an intensive series of specialized workshops and training sessions in financial technology and digital solution development.
This outstanding achievement highlights the capabilities of GJU students in applying their academic knowledge and practical skills to create solutions that address the needs of the financial sector. It also reflects the university’s applied education approach, which connects academic knowledge with practical experience, strengthens innovation and entrepreneurship, and enables students to transform their ideas into impactful solutions across vital sectors, particularly financial technology.
On this occasion, GJU extends its congratulations to its winning students, commending their efforts, creativity, and teamwork throughout the competition stages. The university also expresses its appreciation to the organizers and partners of the FinTech Rally 2026 Hackathon for providing students with a national platform to develop their ideas, engage with industry experts, and transform their innovations into applicable solutions that contribute to shaping the digital future.
The hackathon witnessed the participation of student teams from 14 Jordanian universities, competing to develop innovative ideas and solutions in Financial Technology (FinTech) through an integrated journey that began with idea generation and prototype design, culminating in project presentations before a specialized judging panel comprising experts and specialists in the financial and technology sectors.
