Students from the School of Applied Humanities and Languages (SAHL (at German Jordanian university (GJU) visited two heritage non-profit organizations in Bani Hamida and Iraq Al- Ameer during the month of March 2023. These trips are part of their course Contrastive Cultural Studies course at SAHL which was taught by Mss. Raghad.
The purpose of these trips is to encourage students to connect and learn about how their cultural heritage is presented through local women in non-profit organizations. During their visits, the students were able to get a closer look and understanding on how important it is to sustain and represent their cultural heritage as ambassadors of their country Jordan when present in Germany for their German year.
Furthermore, SAHL Vice Dean, Prof. Dr. Haytham Al Thawabeyeh stated that these two trips are part of six trips planned by the instructor of the course to be completed over the course of the second semester. Prof. Thawabeyeh added that the trips are important in instilling a sense of togetherness in students by supporting local communities through their personal conversations with them in an aim to foster long term future connections.
